Set in the isolated back-woods of Appalachia in 1943, A Killing Affair tells the dramatic story of a woman, Maggie Gresham (Kathy Baker), who lets a stranger, Baston Morris (Peter Weller) into her home, and then discovers that he killed her husband. His motive is that the husband had slept with his wife and killed his family. As the relationship between the woman and the murderer grows more intense, she realises that she doesn't know whether she can trust him, or why she cannot fight back against him.
